How long does therapy last and how often do we meet?

Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes and are usually scheduled on a weekly or biweekly basis. Commitment to therapy with regular attendance is crucial for getting the most out of the process. I offer both short-term and long-term counseling to suit your needs. When you start feeling less stressed and overwhelmed, and life begins to improve—a sign of significant progress—we’ll discuss a plan for ending treatment. The duration to reach this point varies for everyone, but you can always choose to end treatment at any time.

Are my sessions confidential?

Yes, everything you share with me is held in the strictest confidence, and all your information is secured according to HIPAA laws. There are certain legal exceptions to confidentiality, which are detailed in my privacy policy that you’ll receive and sign when you become a client.

Do you prescribe medication?

I do not prescribe medication. Only doctors (PCPs and psychiatrists) and psychiatric nurse practitioners can prescribe medication for mental health issues. If you’re interested in trying medication, we can discuss it, and I can refer you to someone who can prescribe it or coordinate with your PCP.

How does Telehealth work?

We will meet via video through my Client Portal. Simply click the link provided in the portal from your computer (preferred device) to join the session. Alternatively, you can download the Simple Practice app on your phone to conduct the appointment via video. The telehealth platform is HIPAA compliant and requires a good internet signal for effective communication. I will provide you with guidelines around this during the intake process.
